In the Shadows

This "friendly" leopard is just enjoying some dinner in the shadows. All I know is that I'm glad this animal was caged and preoccupied!

Returning Home

Views from the plane leaving Honduras. It was definitely a bittersweet departure. I was ready to see my boyfriend upon my return but it was hard to leave La Cemesa hospital knowing that we left some kiddos behind. I am happy to report that both the kids that remained in the hospital are doing well now!

Above are some of the candid shots I got of the children we operated on and cared for in Honduras. Please check out the Friends of Barnabas website at fobf.org for more information about the organization and why we do what we do!

Stealing a Moment!

P1000503

This is a picture of my coworker Avrey and her husband Micah. It was taken on the bus on our way back from the Barnabas House in Honduras. I was pleasantly surprised at how it captured both of their personalities so well. You both are great!

There is no sport equal to that which aviators enjoy while being carried through the air on great white wings.

~ Wilbur Wright

Dad, I left my heart up there.

— Francis Gary Powers, CIA U-2 pilot shot down over the Soviet Union, describing his first flight at age 14.

As soon as we left the ground I knew I myself had to fly!

— Amelia Earhart, after her first flight in an airplane, a ten minute sight-seeing trip over Los Angeles, 1920.

Even before [we] . . . had reached 300 feet, I recognized that the sky would be my home. I tumbled out of the airplane with stars in my eyes.

— Geraldyn Cobb, regards her first flight, piloted by her father when she was 12 years old.

Oh the wonderment of flight!

Back to School!

It's funny to think one could miss the long hours of studying and sitting through monotonous classes.....but, I do!
